WEEK EIGHT -- New Painting

As my life has been very hectic, I have neglected "my challenge."  I have decided that if I can do 50 paintings that in itself will be a good goal.  Therefore, I will be posting as I can.  I have been exploring different experiences in painting and photography.  I hope you will enjoy this weeks offerering.

I did these as a pair.  These are my abstract lilies. They are painted on 8 by 10 canvas boards ready for framing. These are being sold as a pair for the $50 price I originally set.  The Taylor Senior Citizen's Center will receive the normal 10%. I will be happy to hear your feedback and suggestions.
 Thanks for viewing my blog.

Week Seven

I hope you will enjoy this painting.  It is my rendition of "Abstract Eyes."  It is an 8 x 10 stretched canvas in oils.  The edge is wrapped so no frame is required for hanging.

My original challenge to myself is having to be modified.  I find I am unable to complete a painting that meets my standards of excellence in a week.  I would rather take longer to complete the picture than hurriedly post a painting that I could not be proud to post.  This all depends on how many other obligations I have which must take priority -- and yes, there are some that take priority.  Week before last my mother's brother died. Mother is 89 and this was extremely stressful to her.  Her needs these passed two weeks were a priority over painting challenge. I will continue to paint and post the paintings as quickly as possible.  If you are able, please consider buying one.

Week Six

Today I'm posting Week Six Painting.  This again is a 12 x 16 oil painting of a little lake, some trees, just a happy little painting which I hope you will like enough to purchase.  I am trying to sell these for $50 with $5 going to my charity, Taylor Senior Citizen's Center in Taylor, Alabama.  The $45 which I keep will go to purchase more paint, canvas and brushes.  Contact me if you are interested in purchasing.  If you live in or near Dothan, AL or Taylor, AL you are welcome to visit and see personally how the colors will fit in your home.  If you cannot pick up your picture, there is a fee for shipping.  So much for that, here's this week's picture.

Please leave a comment so I will know that you visited and what you thought of the picture.

Day One

Just learning about blogging but here goes.  This may be repeated but if it is I'll try to correct that later:

After working most of my life and raising a couple of beautiful daughter, I retired. One thing I miss about the work is the organizational schedule -- always knowing where you had to be and when. I began setting goals and making a schedule. Art had always been an inspiration in my life but I never seemed to have enough time. Now I do. I recently hears of a group of artists who are challenging themselves towards progress and perseverance by painting a picture each day and selling it for a very reasonable amount with 10 percent going to a charity. I wanted to join this challenge; however because I take care of my 90 year old mother I may not be able to paint every day. I decided to go for one painting a week for 50 weeks. Each painting will be priced for $50 and from each painting sold I will contribute $5.00 to the Taylor Senior Citizens Center in Taylor, Alabama. This Center is a place where senior citizens come together for fellowship, crafts, meals and other entertainment. To learn more about this challenge, please visit kimberlyconraddailypaintings.blogspot.com or amywhitehousepaintings.blogspot.com.

This is my first picture.

If you are interested, please contact me at friendsino@aol.com.  Please put "$50 painting" in the subject line.

Thanks
